Challenge

"As we seek greater membership, our vision is the establishment of a scenic, sustainable, and connected multi modal trail system that enhances quality of life by providing equitable access to transportation, recreation, cultural, educational, and economic opportunities for all.

We partner with county staff to provide information about needs and opportunities for Safe Routes to Schools, bike lanes alongside highways, recreational trails, etc.  We share ideas and best practices, synchronize planning, and even coordinate stewardship projects  for maintenance and clean-ups."

These trails include the Belmont Bay Shared Use Path, Veterans Memorial Park Trail, Rippon Boulevard Shared Use Path, Rippon Landing Park Trail, Blackburn Road Shared Use Path and four segments of Route 1 Shared Use Path. Some of the segments also are part of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, a Mid-Atlantic corridor connecting trails and historic sites.
